Arizona Rep. Jeff Flake says he’s raised more than $1 million for his effort to win a U.S. Senate seat being vacated by fellow Republican Jon Kyl in 2012.

Flake’s campaign says he also kicked in cash left over from his 2010 congressional re-election effort. That means he has about $1.5 million in the bank to finance his election effort.

Flake is the only announced candidate in the race. Fellow GOP Rep. Trent Franks announced last week that he will not seek the seat.

No Democrats have announced they are running.

  1. Just another hypocritical, flip-flopping Republican. His campaign website claims
“Because of the strong positions I take, I’m not very popular with the Washington lobbying community.” Yet, taking a cursory look at his past campaign filings with the FEC, one sees $18,000 from the banking industry and lots of cash from the healthcare industry etc…and that’s only the first page of many. Flake is an appropriate name for this liar. He must think we’re all fools.
