Don’t start measuring for drapes yet

Tobin will stay on as speaker even if he decides to run in CD1, a source close to Tobin told our reporter this morning.

  1. Who would anyway? There are no windows in the Speaker’s office.

  2. Carnivorous Buttock Fly

That’s Andy. He would never relinquish any power or control unless forced to do so. Really, though, it’s a great tactic and one that I would suspect him to employ. In a way, it’s almost like double-dipping. By hanging on to his LD1 seat, it should make it easier to get and keep those corporate and lobbyist dollars flowing into his CD1 campaign. Meanwhile, LD1 constituents will (still) lack proper representation in the House, as Andy serves himself further, pandering, politicking and climbing rungs on the political ladder.

I see the other New Yorker in the AZ House of Reps has chimed in here. How nice. As an aside, it is my opinion, that Arizona hasn’t had a good or even decent politician that has transplanted from New York, since Scottsdale Mayor Herb Drinkwater. Hey, Kavanagh, maybe besides or in addition to working on legislation that will allow lotto winners to remain anonymous, you can also work on an appropriation to get the House Speaker a corner office with some windows.

The Speaker’s office has certainly been in need of windows the past few years. What’s that old saying about sunlight? Oh yeah, here it is: Sunshine is the best disinfectant. Arizona deserves a Speaker of the House that doesn’t work in the dark as this current one does. Examples include: Having his own version of IRC maps drawn up, his own “Medicaid expansion/reform” plan, etc., while trying to cut the public out of the process every step of the way. It is simply unacceptable.

Arizona certainly does not need Andy at the state level and most certainly not as a U.S. Congressman.

Here’s a quote from Andy Tobin (11/1/11, begin at about the 2:48 mark, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxI1HkWTyQI&feature=player_embedded) that basically illustrates what Andy thinks of the good citizens of the State of Arizona and should inform anyone reading this, why we do not need him to run or be elected in the next CD1 race “The arrogance of power and ignorance of citizen’s initiatives needs to be stopped.”. I believe that you, Andy Tobin, are the arrogant one, trying to take the power that citizens rightly possess, away from them and at the very least, thinking that they should not have that control, or seemingly any control, over their government. Some of us still appreciate the words of Lincoln from the Gettysburg Address. You know, that whole: “government of the people, by the people, for the people”, thing. Andy Tobin’s style would likely be akin to: “Government over the people, by Andy Tobin and his corporate and lobbyist masters, for Andy Tobin and his corporate and lobbyist masters”.
No thanks, Andy, thanks a lot.
