A team of Democratic candidates competing in Tempe’s Legislative District 26 is making waves in Democratic circles for two mailers they sent out claiming they are the “only candidates” who support education and women’s rights.

I am shocked and appalled to see this publication diminish my daughter to her relationship status, the same woman who received the 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Diversity Award in Tempe for her leadership in the community.

Citing a unique opportunity to ensure the next lawmaker is a woman, LD26 Democratic precinct committeemen on Wednesday nominated an all-female slate of three candidates to fill the district’s open House seat.
