Issues:

Political influence: Without a doubt, my father, Frank Sr. He instilled in me a strong work ethic at an early age by teaching me you can’t have the good things in life if you don’t work hard for them. Whether it was a 10-speed bike when I was ten years old or a new car when I was a teenager; if I wanted one, I had to work to earn it. He also gave me the basic skills to be self sufficient, confident, steadfast and if necessary, aggressive to obtain my goals in life.

Budget recommendations: We increase revenue by creating opportunity for businesses and jobs. We need more taxpayers in AZ and less people relying on government. To do that we not only need to have a competitive business climate, but also a fair and level legal climate. We need to eliminate the personal business property tax and capital gains taxes to encourage investment. We need tort reforms and to implement a “loser pays” system for lawsuits in AZ to cut down on frivolous filings. We also need to look at eliminating unfunded mandates and those portions of the budget that mandate spending but do not have a dedicated funding source. We also need a system to evaluate the performance, effectiveness and necessity of every state agency and eliminate those agencies that are not needed or whose tasks can be better performed by the private sector.

Other concerns: Protecting and expanding individual liberty by limiting the role and impact of government in the lives of Arizona citizens while working to hold the federal government accountable for enforcing our immigration laws and securing our border. If they refuse or fail to act, I will do everything I can to see to it that the state of Arizona will do what is necessary to protect its citizens. Create a pro-growth, pro-business environment to bring opportunities for jobs to Arizona and get Arizona’s economy firing on all eight cylinders once again. We can’t cut, nor tax our way out of this recession; we must grow our way out of it.

Fiscal philosophy: Don’t spend more than you bring in, spend only what is needed for essential services and infrastructure, establish a true rainy day account that prevents the governor from raiding it when it starts getting cloudy, and return any surplus back to the taxpayers in the form of a tax rebate.

Background & experience: Besides my military experience that provided many of the skills necessary to work in the Legislature, I have a medical and business background that served me very well in my first term of office. I was also fortunate to spend time in both the House and the Senate during my first term. This puts me in the unique position of having established sound relationships with both House and Senate members; making me very effective in the legislative process by knowing the personalities and those best able to help me get my proposed legislation passed.

Proposition 100 sales tax: What this has effectively done is put more of the budget off limits without addressing the underlying economic reasons for our revenue decline. Without the economic reforms to get our state’s economy on the path to recovery, the sales tax increase will probably not help and may in fact hurt our state in the long run.

Pro-life/pro-choice: I oppose the use of abortion as a form of birth control and think it should only be used in cases where the life of the mother is at stake.

One last thing: I have demonstrated I will fight for the rights and freedoms of my constituents by being instrumental in getting legislation passed to protect and expand their right to keep and bear arms, their Tenth Amendment rights and their right to choose their own health care without government interference. I will also hold government accountable for the use of their hard earned tax dollars.

Campaign Finance: private.
