Religious preference: Non-denominational Christian.

Education: MBA (emphasis on finance), University of Southern California, 1972; B.S., business, UCLA, 1967.

Political experience: Ran for Pima county treasurer and for Tucson city council.

Memberships have included: Various.

Issues:

Political influence: The people of Arizona and their well-being have inspired my candidacy.

Budget recommendations: To increase revenue and bring jobs to Arizona, we must make Arizona a great place to start and operate a business venture. We should make Arizona known as the state most committed to the free market enterprise system. The state should promote volunteerism to provide services the state cannot now afford. We can offer bonuses to state employees to find ways to cut costs and improve efficiency.

Other concerns: Creating jobs for Arizona by making our state an economic powerhouse. Oversee and influence the financial decision-making of the state government.

Fiscal philosophy: A fiscally well-run state government is good for the welfare of all Arizonans. I plan to be very diligent in performing cost benefit analysis to insure all state programs are as effective as possible.

Background & experience: I have 30 years experience starting and operating my own business. During those years, I successfully interacted with thousands of customers and hundreds of employees and suppliers. My reputation for fairness, integrity and honesty has rewarded me abundantly. These same qualities will serve and reward the people of Arizona well.

Proposition 100 sales tax: Since Prop. 100 has already been voted in, I will work to make it unnecessary to initiate future sales tax increases.

Pro-life/pro-choice: I cannot briefly describe my position on a life-or-death issue.

One last thing: As a financially secure, retired businessman, who wishes to be elected as a citizen lawmaker, I have nothing to lose in making the tough decisions that are necessary to put Arizona on the right track. Every few years certain skill sets are needed in government. My experience and education in finance, job creation and responsible money management are what the state now needs most.

Campaign Finance: public.
