Interests: Church, family, community advocacy.

Issues:

Political influence: No one person. Instead, it has been a culmination of people who I have worked with and met while serving as a legislator, volunteering in the political arena and while volunteering in the schools and community.

Budget recommendations: Government needs to live within its means. Just like last time, the appropriations committee, House and Senate leadership and the governor need to determine solutions that will get the required votes to pass. It is important that we continue to find ways to attract jobs to Arizona, because income from jobs is what brings revenue into our state. I would like to continue to look at ways to reduce fraud and abuse in our welfare programs. I also think we need to do a better job of identifying individuals and businesses that are receiving homeowner rebates on their property taxes that are not qualified to receive them.

Other concerns: Developing a long-term energy plan for Arizona. Finding ways to attract businesses and jobs to Arizona.

Fiscal philosophy: I believe government needs to live within its means. I believe in limited government spending and taxes. I want to see our debt level lowered and spending brought in line with revenues. After the economy recovers, I want to work to eliminate fund sweeps.

Background & experience: Because I was self-employed for so many years, I not only gained business experience, but had time to volunteer in the schools, community, and in the Republican Party. It gave me an understanding of a variety of issues. I served as the District 9 Republican chairman and an officer of both the county and state Republican Party. My experience in all these venues with various people, along with a belief in God, has given me a solid foundation. Now that I am a legislator, I have received on-the-job training and continue to learn each and every day.

Prop. 100 sales tax: The voters approved the temporary sales tax. Now it is up to the Legislature and governor to ensure that the tax will indeed be temporary. We need to align government spending to the level of revenue without the sales tax by the end of three years.

Pro-life/pro-choice: I am pro-life.

One last thing: I have been very blessed to serve you. Thank you for your continued support. I ask for your vote.

Campaign Finance: public.
