Issues:

Political influence: My dad instilled in me basic philosophical beliefs that freedom comes from individual responsibility, that the strength of our country comes from hard-working, productive members of our society, and that the free enterprise system is stimulated when there is more competition and less government regulation.

Budget recommendations: If required to cut state expenditures, I would desire to review every layer of state government, including agencies, boards, commissions and programs to determine areas where there may be wasteful or non-essential spending, without negatively impacting public services. I would additionally call for a strict budget-balancing spending limit to ensure the state would be prohibited from spending in excess of the amount of state revenues collected.

Other concerns: I’d like to focus on both education and health issues.

Fiscal philosophy: I’m a fiscal conservative.

Background & experience: I have real world capitol experience having had the privilege of working for 15 years in and around state legislatures, as staff on legislative committees and for statewide elected officials including two governors, a state treasurer and a state superintendent of public instruction. I have the education and work experience to handle complex public policy issues at the heart of developing important laws and decision making.

Prop. 100 sales tax: While I am an ardent supporter of adequately funding public education, public safety and healthcare, I have reservations when a tax increase impacts the pocketbooks of working families and already struggling small businesses during an economic recession.

Pro-life/pro-choice: I believe life is precious and I am pro-life.

One last thing: I was born and raised in District 10 so I hold the interests of the district close to my heart. I would like to serve Arizona as a state representative with the honor and integrity deserving of the office.

Campaign Finance: private.
