Interests: Arizona sports (ASU, Diamondbacks, Suns), ice cream, spending time with my family.

Issues:

Political influence: When I cast my first presidential vote for Ronald Reagan, it was because he embodied the political ideals that are still most important to me today and a leadership style that brought people together. That first vote for Reagan shaped my development as a voter and now guides me as a candidate.

Top priority: My first priority would be to be a safe and prudent manager of the taxpayer’s money. That’s the primary focus of the Treasurer’s Office.

Changes to duties: I would not change any of the duties or responsibilities of the office, but I would like to build on two things the treasurer can continue to do and do better for Arizona. The first is to bring clarity to Arizona’s finances with improvements to the AZ Checkbook website that our current treasurer started. I will help to turn data into information that voters and legislators can use to make better decisions about how our state spends money. The second thing I will do is make myself available to whoever is our next governor to work on bringing jobs to Arizona. I have experience building a business here in Arizona, and I know how entrepreneurs think. I can add value at the Capitol by applying my knowledge and experience to the challenge of creating good, new Arizona jobs.

Background & experience: My degree in finance and experience in the business sector uniquely qualifies me to be our state treasurer because I have the understanding of investments necessary to make safe and prudent financial decisions as well as the real-world experience to help Arizona build its businesses and create jobs, just as I have done with my companies.
