This district encompasses most of Tempe (all but the southern two miles or so) but does include the southern-most two miles of Scottsdale (everything south of Oak St. and Thomas Rd.). The rest of Scottsdale and District 8 lies to the north. Mesa’s District 18 lies to the east as does the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community (part of District 23). District 20 and the rest of Tempe lie to the south. Phoenix’s District 16 lies to the west. The northwest corner of the district is near the intersection of
60th St. and Osborn Rd. The district boundary follows Osborn east to Miller Rd., where it jogs south one-half mile to Thomas and then east to Pima Rd. and the boundary with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The line then goes south along Pima and follows the Tempe boundary south to the intersection of Price and Elliot roads. It then cuts across southern Tempe, jogging north one mile at Rural Rd. before heading west again to the border with the town of Guadalupe. The line follows Tempe’s western border north to Scottsdale and the starting point.
ASU’s main campus lies in the district, as do the Buttes Resort, Tempe Diablo Stadium and Arizona Mills Mall.
