Geographic Description of Legislative District 30

This district comprises eastern Pima County, the northern half of Santa Cruz County and hooks into Cochise County to take in Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca. The northeast corner of the district is the point where Graham, Pinal and Pima counties meet. From there, the line goes west to a point near where the Arizona Trail crosses from Pima into Pinal County. The line then goes south and west along ridges and drainages in the Catalina Mountains to approximately an alignment with Ina Rd. in the Coronado National Forest, north of Tucson. It goes west to include a large portion of the Catalina Foothills area and extends south to the Rillito River. The line follows the river to approximately Camino Seco Rd. where it cuts south to Broadway Blvd. then east to Harrison Rd., which it follows to the Pantano Wash. It follows the wash southeast to Houghton Rd, then follows Houghton south to Valencia Rd., where it makes a cut-out to include a residential area to the southwest of the intersection of Valencia and Houghton roads. It meets up with Houghton again at approximately Old Vail Rd. and resumes a southerly course to a point just south of I-10 at approximately Brekke Rd. It then follows an irregular, mostly westerly, course to approximately the alignment with Swan Rd., where it cuts north to include Tucson International Airport and the Raytheon Missile Systems plant. The line goes south mostly along or close to Nogales Hwy. to Pima Mine Rd. where it cuts west to Sandario Rd. and then south to the Santa Cruz County border. At a point west of Tubac, the district line goes east to Tumacacori and then follows an irregular course southeast to Cochise County where it scoops out Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca. It rejoins the eastern Pima County boundary line at a point east of Elgin. The line then follows the Pima County boundary north to the starting point. In the rural areas of this district, District 25 lies to the east, south and west. In the suburban areas of the district near Tucson, districts 26, 28 and 29 lie to its west.
