Businessman Steve Moak is challenging attorney Ben Quayle’s financial dominance in the Republican race in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District.
Moak has raised about $1.1 million, according to the latest Federal Election Commission reports.
Meanwhile, Quayle has taken in more than $1.3 million as of Aug. 4.
Actually, Moak only collected about $16,000 between July 1 and Aug. 4, but he infused $300,000 of his own money into his campaign during that time.
Moak has now loaned his campaign about $593,000, an eye-popping amount.
Quayle, however, maintained a healthy fundraising total in the one-month period – about $219,000 from contributors, nearly three times as much as the total that challenger Pamela Gorman received this far in the race.
And it’s no surprise that Moak’s TV ads are flooding the airwaves.
He has outspent Quayle by $100,000 this period.
Moak has spent a total of about $1 million while Quayle spent more than $900,000.
