A poll released Tuesday shows that Republican Tom Horne and Democratic Felecia Rotellini are about even among likely voters in the Arizona attorney general race.
The Rocky Mountain Poll also shows the race is tied among registered voters.
Among likely voters, 40 percent support Horne, 36 percent favor Rotellini and 24 percent are undecided.
Each candidate captured 34 percent of registered voters. Thirty-two percent of registered voters are undecided.
The statewide poll of 555 registered voters was conducted by Phoenix-based Behavior Research Center between Oct. 1 and Oct. 10 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.
The sample of 450 likely voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percent.
This is encouraging news for Felicia Rotellini. With the percent of Hispanic voters likely underestimated in this year’s likely voter sample (I believe Hispanic turnout in AZ will be much higher than expected, and also more highly Democratic, due to SB1070), these results bode well for her and also Terry Goddard, who is also close to Governor Brewer in some polls.
It is too bad that Rodney Glassman has had no national Democratic party support, since John McCain has about 46% negatives, but Glassman is unlikely to get well known enough to win that race. It would be a delicious shocker if he were to win, or even make it real close.
