Gov. Jan Brewer’s doctor says she’s in excellent health.
The governor’s office on Friday released a statement by Dr. Gordi Khera. It came in response to about two weeks of internet speculation that the 66-year-old Brewer is in poor health and might not be able to serve a four-year term if elected Nov. 2.
Khera’s statement says he’s coordinated medical care for Brewer for about 10 years and finds her to be in “excellent medical health.” He says she can proceed with daily rigorous duties as governor and work as many years as she desires.
The doctor also says he’s unaware of any medical conditions that would impede Brewer from serving her gubernatorial duties. And Khera says Brewer wants to publicly disclose any matters that would affect her service as governor.
