For the first time in years, a full Republican delegation will go to the Legislature representing Legislative District 25.
The GOP gained a House seat in the district, as Rep. David Stevens and Peggy Judd, a Willcox Tea Party member and precinct committeeman, beat out Democratic Rep. Patricia Fleming.
Fleming finished more than 3,300 votes behind Stevens, according to unofficial results from the Nov. 2 election.
Democrats hold a nine-point voter-registration advantage in the vast southern Arizona district, but voters have sent a mixed delegation to the Legislature since 2002.
Meanwhile, Republican Gail Griffin soundly defeated Sen. Manny Alvarez, the Democratic incumbent, in the Senate race, giving Republicans control of all three district seats in the Legislature. Griffin collected 55 percent of the vote.
She served in the House in from 1997 to 2001 and she formerly chaired the Cochise County Republican Committee.
