Interests: Politics, enjoying the great Arizona outdoors, my kids’ school and extra-curricular activities.

Political influence: My husband.

Job creation measures: Create more public/private partnerships like Science Foundation Arizona that will attract capital investment and jobs; invest in ongoing worker training programs.

Top Issues: Women’s health and Child Protective Services.

Prop 100 sales tax extension: I didn’t support the increase in the first place, and I don’t think the extension is the right solution. We need to deal with budget shortfalls in a way that will not shift the burden to the middle class and keep us dependent on sales tax revenue.

Illegal immigration: Immigration is a federal issue and we need reform of our failed immigration system at the federal level.

Background & experience: My background as a social worker has prepared me well to be a legislator. This experience has taught me to bring together diverse groups of people to work together, and definitely served me well in my first term.

Pro-life / pro-choice: Abortion is a legal medical procedure that the Legislature should stop interfering in. The continued restrictions imposed by the Legislature make abortion less accessible and more unsafe. This compromises women’s health and safety.

Campaign finance: private.
