District 5 is located in northwestern Arizona. It comprises all of La Paz and Mohave counties, except the Hualapai and Kaibab-Paiute Reservations in eastern Mohave County. It does include the Fort Mojave Reservation and the Colorado River Indian Communities. It also includes Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City and Kingman in Mohave County as well as Quartzsite and Parker in La Paz County. Minorities represent 21.4 percent of the total population and 17.8 percent of the voting age population. The district overlaps somewhat with former legislative district 3 but does not contain either the areas of Coconino County north of Grand Canyon National Park or the Kaibab-Paiute Reservation, both of which areas are now located in Legislative District 7.
