Political influence: Actually, there are a number of people that have influenced my political philosophy, starting with Seneca, Frederick Bastiat, John Locke, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and Ronald Reagan.

Job creation measures: Get the government out of the private sector as much as possible and let the private sector do what it does best. Additionally, I would reduce or eliminate taxes on capital and real property.

Top Issues: Protect the rights and freedoms of individuals and reduce the size of government.

Prop 100 sales tax extension: In a way, I am the Will Rogers of taxes. I’ve never met a tax I liked.

Illegal immigration: Encourage the federal government to do their job and secure the borders.

Background & experience: I was a farmer for nearly 30 years, I’ve worked around manure my whole life.

Pro-life / pro-choice: It’s hard to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness if you don’t have life.

One last thing: I like long walks on the beach; I have a strange affinity for honey badgers; and I’ve been known to eat stale Twinkies.
