Political influence: My dad instilled in me basic philosophical beliefs that freedom comes from individual responsibility, that the strength of our country comes from hard-working, productive members of our society, and that the free enterprise system is stimulated when there is more competition and less government regulation.

Job creation measures: Reduce excessive tax obligations and decrease government regulations on our businesses.

Top Issues: I will continue to focus on the areas of education and economic development.

Prop 100 sales tax extension: I support adequate funding of our education system, but I do not support extending a sales tax increase beyond its expiration date. The initiative was sold to voters as a temporary tax increase, so we should keep to that promise.

Illegal immigration: It is important to secure Arizona’s borders and ensure the public’s safety by enforcing our robust immigration laws. Arizona should continue to press the federal government to properly fund border security and provide support along Arizona’s most vulnerable southern border.

Background & experience: I have served in the administrations of a number of statewide elected officials including two governors, a state treasurer, a state superintendent of public instruction and as staff to the California State Board of Education and the Arizona Senate Education Committee. I have a graduate degree in public administration and have worked for over 16 years in the field of public policy.

Pro-life / pro-choice: I am pro-life and believe that the precious life of a baby begins at conception.

One last thing: I was born and raised in my legislative district, so I consider it a privilege to represent the neighborhoods I know and love. I would bring to the Senate compassion for my constituents, a record of accomplishment, and trusted leadership.

Campaign finance: private.
