PO Box 31990, Mesa, AZ 85275.

Age: 44. (09/13/67).

Arizona since:Did not respond.

Occupation: President and founder, CN Resources LLC; licensed CPA.

Marital: Married (Patrice).

Children: 7.

Religious preference: LDS.

Education: University of Notre Dame, 1997; BYU, 1993.

Political experience: President, Mesa School Bd; precinct committeeman, District 19.

Legis exp: Senate since 2011; House 2007-2010.

Memberships: Mesa Baseline Rotary; retired, Mesa Bank Board.

Interests: Family and digital learning.

Political influence: Abraham Lincoln has been the most influential person in my political development. He was quite fearless in addressing the difficult issues while president. I have tried to model that same approach while I have been in the Legislature.

Job creation measures: Two measures that I support to encourage job creation in our great state are lowering the commercial property tax and creating opportunities for post-secondary graduates so we can retain those we are educating.

Top Issues: First, I want to implement the new educational standards for 2014-2015. Second, I want to focus on bringing more technology into the state government, which would make things more efficient and accountable.

Prop 100 sales tax extension: I support the sales tax increase only if we are making sure the funds are being used properly. I want to see accountability for that money and how it was spent. If the money has been spent improperly, then we should let it expire. I do not support any ballot initiative to increase the temporary sales tax.

Illegal immigration: Arizona should continue to enforce the current enforcement measures. Also, I think we could address any areas where a guest-worker program would be appropriate.

Background & experience: I have constantly sought to be involved in the education community, to help and to understand the needs and concerns. This involvement has allowed me to be a leader on education at the Legislature. Currently, I’m working on an Ed.D. at Vanderbilt University to help further my understanding on education.

Pro-life / pro-choice: One of the things I am most proud of with regards to my legislative career is my perfect voting record when it comes to sanctity of life and protecting the unborn. Where there is no voice we must be the ones to take a stand. I commit to continue being an advocate for life.

One last thing: I want voters to know that I am willing to find solutions to big problems and spend the time necessary to apply those solutions. I believe this shows in the fact that I have had more bills signed by the governor than almost any other legislator.

Campaign finance: private.
