About Legislative District 12

District 12 is located in eastern Maricopa County and northwestern Pinal County. Its northern border is Baseline Rd. (plus a small territory between Baseline and U.S. 60 near Higley Rd.). It is bounded on the west by Cooper Rd, on the south by the Gila River Indian Reservation and on the east by Gray Rd. (near Ironwood Rd.). It includes the East Valley communities of Gilbert and Queen Creek.

Minorities represent 26.7 percent of the total population and 24.4 percent of the voting age population.

This district includes portions of former legislative districts 19, 21, 22 and 23.
