Two biggest issues: Education: I have proposed legislation to fund districts and charters on outcome rather than seat time, and I have introduced legislation to fix our outdated funding formula. State economy and budget: [I] will continue to support legislation to structurally balance the state budget without using fund shifts and gimmicks. I will continue to support legislation that provides for economic growth.

Budget priorities: To reduce expenditures the state needs to move to a zero-balance budgeting process. This will allow the state to move away from wasteful formula funding. The state needs to continue to promote a growing economy that will provide more jobs and increase state revenue.

Fiscal philosophy: Fiscally conservative; not spend more than you receive.

Common Core: These standards have been developed and pushed to implementation without proper testing. The state needs to slow the process and determine if these are the best standards for students in the state of Arizona.

Gifts to elected officials: Undecided.

Transparency in government: This country is founded on a representative form of government. This requires full sunlight on all business that is conducted with as much notice to the public as needed to assure this transparency.

Pro-life / pro-choice: Pro-life.

Public policy advice: Constituents.
