Two biggest issues: Transportation: Restoration of HURF funding to repair and maintain our roadways, work to approve Hwy 11. Budget: Maintaining a fiscally responsible budget.
Budget priorities: Education: Restoration of funding. Transportation: Restore funding of HURF. I would look for ways to combine agencies, such as Dept of Real Estate and Registrar of Contractors to name two.
Fiscal philosophy: Conservative.
Common Core: Yes, I believe in rigorous standards created at the state level with curriculum at a local level.
Gifts to elected officials: Yes, we need to continue to work to make sure that there is at least an arms-length separation from benefactors of any legislation.
Transparency in government: Transparency in government is vital to retaining the trust of constituents and adequate public notice is also of vital importance to allow public input on legislation.
Pro-life / pro-choice: I am pro-life.
Public policy advice: I would seek out the advice of stakeholders in the various sectors such as business leaders, mining operations, health care professionals, educators and transportation experts.
