Interests: I enjoy spending time with my husband and family and RVing.

Two biggest issues: Job! Jobs! Jobs! We need to get people back to work and improve our economy both at the state level and in our rural communities. We need to balance the budget and live within our means if we want to attract additional business and industry. The message we need to send is Arizona is open for business! States rights and the protection of property and water rights are also very important. By balancing the budget and creating a healthy business climate, we will be able to fund the other state priorities of affordable health care and get education dollars into the classroom for the students and teachers.

Budget priorities: The way to increase revenues is to create a healthy business environment for the state of Arizona. I want to see existing businesses able to expand and for new business and industry to locate in Arizona. We must continue to get the word out that Arizona is pro-business. Government must be accountable to the taxpayers of Arizona.

Fiscal philosophy: I am a fiscal conservative and believe in less government, lower taxes, personal responsibility and in the free enterprise system.

Common Core: I see serious problems with this program and believe in local control and good standards. I believe we should set our education priorities and goals in high student achievement.

Gifts to elected officials: I am open to a gift ban reform.

Transparency in government: Transparency and disclosure is high on my list of importance. I have submitted transparency bills every year I have been in the Senate.

Pro-life / pro-choice: I am pro-life.

Public policy advice: It depends on the particular issue. I have several people I ask opinion, advice and guidance on. It depends on the experts on the particular issue.
