Arizona since: 1985

Occupation: Birthdate: 1958. Legislator.

Education: Graduate level classes, Marquette University; B.A., business administration, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Political experience: District GOP chair; county and state GOP officer; officer, Arrowhead Republican Women Committee.

Legis exp: House since 2009; majority whip since 2011.

Interests: Spending time with my family, being involved in politics.

Two biggest issues: Our state needs to live within its means and our state needs to continue our work to improve education so our children can compete in our global economy.

Budget priorities: We need to continue our work to balance the state budget without gimmicks and more debt. I will continue to work with my fellow legislators to discover and cut areas of government waste.

Fiscal philosophy: I want government to live within its means, just like my family and every other Arizona family needs to do every day.

Common Core: Arizona needs to raise educational standards and expectations in order for our children to succeed in the global economy. However, Arizona needs to also maintain local control and keep a watchful eye to prevent federal government encroachment.

Gifts to elected officials: Reforms are needed to increase transparency and to clarify what is considered a gift and what is not.

Transparency in government: I support transparency and have voted for legislation to increase transparency in the past. For the six years I have been a state legislator, I have sent out newsletters and written guest columns keeping the public informed and have always encouraged public input.

Pro-life / pro-choice: Pro-life.

Public policy advice: My husband and experts in the field I am seeking advice about.
