Running for the Legislature or statewide office, or expected to

*This list will be updated every Friday through the election.

Here’s a list of potential legislative and statewide office candidates in 2010. At least 15 seats are expected to be vacant in the Senate because of term limits, retirement, or because senators are seeking other positions.

Meanwhile, some 13 House members cannot seek re-election in 2010. At least nine representatives are leaving early because of retirement or they are running for other offices.

Most of the people on the list have filed either an exploratory or campaign committee with the Secretary of State’s Office. Others haven’t created a committee, but are expected to run.
