Gov. Jan Brewer on June 10 announced the appointment of assistant U.S. attorney Richard Gordon to the Pima County Superior Court.

Gordon had been with the U.S. Attorney’s Office since 1998. Prior to his time as an assistant U.S. attorney, Gordon worked for the law firm Snell & Wilmer, and also served as an assistant attorney general under former Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods. He currently serves on the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness.

Gordon’s appointment fills a vacancy left by the recent retirement of Judge John Davis.
