Arizona lawmakers want to revive legislation to make President Barack Obama and other presidential candidates show their birth certificates to prove their eligibility to run as natural-born citizens.

Hawaii officials have repeatedly confirmed Obama’s birth there, but so-called “birthers” claim there’s no proof Obama was born in the United States, and he is therefore ineligible to be president. Many question whether he was actually born in Kenya, his father’s home country.

The action by Arizona lawmakers comes after versions of the legislation died earlier in the 2-month-old regular session.

Now, as House and Senate committees near a deadline to consider legislation originated by the other chamber, proponents want to attach proposals onto unrelated bills Tuesday in the House and Wednesday in the Senate.

  1. Racists extraordinaire. Let them, and we want those demanding this, once shown the birth certificate, to stand up and apologize for dividing our country, therefore weakening it, and deriding our President due to racism. They waste time and money…did they not promise to create jobs…yet they sit there cutting into education, economy and jobs. Shame on them.

  2. What a great use of the legistative time. Maybe the could spend some time trying to help our economy by trying to attract more jobs to AZ. Seems these idiots do not understand much about being elected officials.

  3. And the politicians in Arizona wonder why Arizona has a hard time attracting businesses to relocate to Arizona. Let’s run down the list of genius ideas coming from Commisar Pearce and Herr Ron Gould; making a Colt pistol the state handgun there by minimalizing a mass murder in Tuscon, proposing a bill to allow immature college students to take handguns on campus, cutting funding for public education, cutting health care funding and making death panels a reality, wasting taxpayer dollars on SB 1070 and “anchor baby bills” Has Rusell and Ron read the Constitution?

  4. People who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. This (President) has hidden all traces of his past. Anyone who continues to believe in this man, based on “Blind Faith”……is simply a Fool!

  5. Let’s see….where to start. Arizona having trouble attracting business, does this count Intel, kicking off one of, if not the biggest, construction projects in the Nation, right here in the Valley….or not? College student’s being too immature to responsibly handle handguns. These student’s are the same age and maturity level as the 18 and 19 year old men and women fighting in the Middle East. How do you reconcile that? Making the Colt pistol the official state handgun has about as much to do with what happened in Tucson as manufacturing aircraft in Seattle has to do with plane crashes. As far as SB1070 goes, that’s a bill long over do, and I hope that one day the whole “Anchor Baby” issue is put to a vote in an election, so that deluded individuals such as yourself, can see how rank and file American’s really feel about it.

  6. Only one “blind fool” on this page…CAV44.
