Gov. Jan Brewer has vetoed a bill that would have imposed new conditions on lawsuits arising from gifts of property between family members.

Brewer said House Bill 2512 was overly broad and “harshly punitive” and that key provisions were vague and could have unintended consequences.

She said supporters should reconsider the provisions of the legislation she vetoed Tuesday and come with a better bill.
