Bert Coleman, Coleman Dahm & Associates
Coleman Dahm & Associates President Bert Coleman says they “fly under the radar screen.” “I’m kind of surprised,” says Mr. Coleman. The company handles a lot of management issues related to Medicare and several legislative and city council candidates throughout the state.
“Fortunately we have a pretty good win record, and people keep coming back to thank us,” Mr. Coleman says. “We do a lot of direct mail campaigning. All of our candidates come to us by referral. We have represented the Republican Party in their early ballot request program.”
Mr. Coleman moved to Arizona in 1993 after having served in the White House in the first President Bush’s administration. “When the Democrats won, I decided it was time for a change,” he says. “Many Republicans were run out of town, and I didn’t want to fight with 7,000 other people in D.C. looking for a job.”
He had some connections in Arizona and decided to spend a two-month vacation in the Grand Canyon State. “That was 14 years ago,” Mr. Coleman says. “I started a little company all by myself, and was joined by Chris Dahm, who was with Governor Symington.”
Mr. Coleman mentions some of the campaigns in which he has been involved and recognitions he has received, and then says, “I’m not very used to publicity or winning awards.”
