How would you describe your job duties≠
Recruiting, managing and scheduling 10,000 volunteers for Super Bowl XLII, and managing the 19,000 hotel room block with the NFL and the hotel community.
I am also responsible for creating a VIP Hospitality program for the NFL owners, Host Committee sponsors and NFL executives.
What is your favorite part of your job≠
Working with so many different people on a daily basis. Every day is a new experience, which brings new challenges. Creating and implementing the volunteer and hospitality program and seeing it to completion is a great long-term project.
What is the most difficult part of your job≠
Understanding the needs of the volunteers, and making sure they are well taken care of. I want to make sure we create an experience that the volunteers will remember, one that they will always be proud to have been a part of.
How many people express an interest in volunteering for the Super Bowl≠
We currently have 6,500 registered volunteers.
Are there any areas that don’t get enough volunteers≠ Or do you have an abundance of volunteers because it is the Super Bowl≠
We have six assignment areas that volunteers can participate in. Our largest need for volunteers will be during Super Bowl week when we staff 21 shifts at NFL Experience, a giant interactive football theme park adjacent to the stadium. Three hundred fifty volunteers are needed for each shift.
What advice would you give someone in college who wants to get into the hospitality business≠
