Bee will challenge Giffords

Senate President Tim Bee will challenge U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, his campaign team said Jan. 17.
The announcement puts an end to Bee’s exploratory efforts and marks the beginning of an official campaign to unseat Giffords in Congressional District 8.
His team said former southern Arizona Congressman Jim Kolbe will serve as honorary campaign chairman.
Bee will announce his congressional bid in Tucson on Saturday morning and do the same in Sirra Vista in the afternoon, his team said.
