Get Ready for Soaring Power Bills

mericans want — and deserve — affordable, reliable power. But what they’re getting is just the opposite. Our next president will face an electricity crisis — either double down on what clearly isn’t working, or chart a new energy future shaped by the concerns and expertise of the nation’s utilities and grid operators. This shouldn’t be a tough call to make.

AZ Hugs case shows cities embracing wrong solutions for homelessness

While governments are not required to provide shelter or food to those in need, they certainly cannot stand in the way of people who wish to do so. Good Samaritans like Norma and Austin have a constitutional right to engage in charity.

Winning candidates must be on right side of Social Security

The presidential debate along with the Republican National Convention both put Social Security in the spotlight with candidates acknowledging how important this program is on the national stage – literally. White House hopefuls and our state’s Senate candidates would be wise to continue on this path if they want to resonate with Arizona voters come November.

Financial literacy links young adults with American Dream

Prioritizing ongoing financial literacy education goes far beyond the dream of homeownership. It gives students the tools to increase their chances of achieving economic security as adults. And that is an American Dream we can all get behind.

Supreme Court reform crucial for LGBTQ+ protection

We are now asking those elected representatives to fight for us by heeding the president’s call to reform the Supreme Court. We know what happens when that call goes unanswered. We have lived it. And we cannot go back to where we were, when we have come so far to reach where we are.

Today, what used to seem normal is crazy

If it seems backwards, it is. What used to seem crazy is normal. And what is crazy now will seem normal in 25 years. Larger problems in our country are masked by strange ideology, censorship, and media coverage.

Election reform voters have been waiting for, finally

The right way to reduce Arizona’s insurance costs

Instead of politicizing the issue, we need pragmatic solutions that address the root causes of rising insurance costs. This includes tackling inflation through sensible economic policies, curbing litigation abuse, and fostering competition in the insurance marketplace. Arizonans deserve affordable, accessible insurance that reflects the realities of our state and its economic challenges.

Same APS discrimination against solar customers

Unfortunately, the ACC just sided with APS and determined that some solar customers may, indeed, be excluded from the rate case rehearing and that the underlying evidence APS provided to justify the discriminatory fees on solar customers will not be evaluated.

Keeping our promise to the community

Despite these advancements, our historic mission remains the same – to provide exceptional care to the underserved in our community. It is a legacy that began in 1877, when the county first began providing indigent care, and one that we proudly continue today.

Made in America should be mined in America

Establishing a decisive minerals policy, and a leading U.S. office to shepherd it, cannot wait. Our energy future, economic competitiveness, and national security all hang in the balance.

Another Southwest Gas rate hike many families can’t afford

I strongly oppose Southwest Gas’ request for its third rate hike in three years. We must make a meaningful transition away from fossil fuels like gas and coal to improve the health of our communities. This rate increase will only allow Southwest Gas to expand its reach in Arizona and line the pockets of its executives and shareholders.
