‘The Tillman Story’ — What should we learn?

As someone who wore a military uniform for 34 years and someone who is concerned about issues of honor and integrity in the military, I knew that I had to see “The Tillman Story” as soon as it came out.

Gutierrez sent a message, but what was it?

Upon causing himself to be arrested during his protest of SB1070, former Arizona Sen. Alfredo Gutierrez stated: “We were sending a message to the Hispanic community.”

Welcome to the team, Mr. Goddard

Democrat gubernatorial candidate, Terry Goddard, recently wrote in ~The Arizona Republic~ that we need to go on the offensive to fight border crime and solve the problem of illegal immigration now.

Wake up, McCain – it’s 2010

Sen. John McCain, while your daughter and wife support marriage equality, what grants you the right to block another loving couple from marrying or even adopting because they happen to be gay - just because they are gay – when your own lack of personal responsibility ended your marriage?

Quayle’s letter to Napolitano: You are wrong about border security

As a former governor of Arizona, you know the devastating effects illegal immigration and the Mexican drug cartels have on our state. As secretary of Homeland Security, you know the Tucson Sector along Arizona’s southern border has become the gateway for drug cartels and human smuggling activity.

Compromise is needed in Congress

I have been told many times that it takes courage to run for office. Courage is the ability to face difficult issues and never back down. As a business owner I know that there will always be issues and problems to take care of.

Is the Arizona Chamber really serious about business?

When I received the Arizona Capitol Times (June 25, 2010) issue I was excited to see the front-page article entitled, “Business groups move to center.” The article starts off noting the commitment by the business community to send a message to our legislators to stop wasting time on “kooky stuff like ‘birther’ bills.”

Electronic government records should be free to public

Electronic documents were supposed to be the ultimate answer to government openness. Reams of information could be bundled and sent off en masse with basically no overhead and no dead trees, and it would take a few seconds of clicking on a computer rather than hours at the copy machine.
