Trio of bills target unions
A major push is underway in Arizona to strike at the very heart of public unions by eliminating their ability to negotiate collective bargaining agreements. As envisioned, the prohibition would extend to all public-safety unions, including firefighter and police associations.
Guns don’t kill bills… budgets do
Hopes were high among Arizona gun-rights activists earlier this year when Janet Napolitano left the Governor’s Office for a position as secretary of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C. After all, many state bills that would have loosened gun restrictions were near sure-shootin’ vetoes while the Democrat occupied the Ninth Floor.
