Federal penalties have increased under a newly signed law intended to protect the cultural patrimony of Native American tribes, immediately making some crimes a felony and doubling the prison time for anyone convicted of multiple offenses.

A trade delegation that sent Gov. Jan Brewer and two staffers to France and Germany cost nearly $32,000.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is leading a state delegation that will travel to Germany and France for a trade promotion trip that runs into early June.

Brewer will be among the Arizona contingent jetting off to Paris next month to attend the city's famed air show with Arizona Commerce Authority Director Don Cardon.
