Yarnell homeowners blocked from suing state

The state’s highest court won’t let homeowners burned out by the Yarnell Hill fire sue the state for negligence. And that, according to an attorney for those affected, has bad implications for others who own property throughout the state.

Families of perished Yarnell firefighters agree to substantially reduced settlement

A dozen families of the 19 firefighters killed two years ago fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire have agreed to a settlement giving them just a fraction of what they were seeking from the state.
