Hinchey to receive $99,999 in lawsuit against Horne

A former investigator from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office will receive a $99,999 settlement from the state in her lawsuit against Tom Horne and a top deputy, whom she accused of retaliating against her for launching a campaign finance investigation against Horne.

Whistle-blower sues Arizona attorney general, aide

A state criminal investigator has filed a lawsuit against Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne and his top aide. Margaret "Meg" Hinchey claims Horne and Chief Deputy Eric "Rick" Bistrow continue to retaliate against her and have ruined her reputation and ability to do her job.

Horne calls accuser a politically motivated liar

Horne denied Hinchey’s allegations, calling them “fabrications.” He denied accusations that he sought to vet or weed out Democrats when he took office, and noted that, “unlike many of my predecessors,” he did not fire anyone after becoming AG.
