Pass Senate bills to end probate system actions that cause abuse, abandonment, exploitation
Every citizen should be concerned that our rights are so easily eliminated and all that we hold dear and planned for, wiped away. It is incumbent on the Arizona Legislature to pass and Gov. Katie Hobbs to sign into law, SB1291 and SB1038.
Governor not looking for ‘Brewer v. Burns’ repeat
What a difference four years makes. In 2009, Gov. Jan Brewer sued the Legislature over its refusal to send her a package of budget bills that she was certain to veto, leading the Arizona Supreme Court to rule that lawmakers couldn’t hold back measures that were ready for the governor.
Bills often fail to get past COW
The Committee of the Whole, the last chance to amend measures in either chamber before bills go to the floor for a third read, can represent a tremendous hurdle for lawmakers guiding their legislation through the process.
