Real copper dome will cap centennial rifles’ Capitol etching: Colorado specialty gun maker will produce 100 rifles honoring Arizona

Jim Combs, owner of Wellington LTD, a Colorado marketing company that offers limited-edition firearms with laser-etched carvings for special occasions, keeps tabs on such things as city, county, state and business anniversaries.

So he came up with a state of Arizona centennial special edition rifle. He calls it a collector’s Henry grade .45-caliber rifle.

Centennial expo kicks off Arizona’s 100th year with dancers, cowboys and a penny drive

A cowboy lassoed a bale of hay, flamenco dancers clapped castanets and a Navajo sounded his drum on Monday, Arizona’s 99th birthday, as Gov. Jan Brewer kicked off the countdown to the state’s centennial.

Arizona Governor’s Mansion

The Governor’s Mansion in Prescott was built for $6,000 and was the meeting place for the first Territorial Legislature in 1864. Today it serves as the Sharlot Hull Museum.
