Public comment is being accepted on eight candidates for a vacancy on the Maricopa County Superior Court.
The candidates are Elizabeth P. Arriola, James P. Beene, Michele M. Iafrate, Marc Kalish, Michael W. Kemp, Raymond P. Lee, John C. Rea and Robert J. Weber.
Public comment will be taken from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Oct. 3 before the Maricopa County Commission on Trial Court Appointments in the Arizona State Courts Building, 1501 W. Washington St., Room 345, Phoenix. The commission will begin interviewing the candidates at 10 a.m. on Oct. 3.
Written comments may be submitted through Sept. 30 to the commission at 1501 W. Washington St., Suite 227, Phoenix, Ariz. 85007, or by electronic mail to jnc@supreme.sp.state.az.us. Anonymous comments will not be considered.
After the interviews, the commission will recommend at least three nominees to Governor Napolitano, who will appoint the new judge. —
