Arizona State Parks, Arizona Trail Association and the Mountain Biking Association of Arizona will host a one-day trail maintenance event at the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park Nov. 8.
The day is for volunteers interested in learning the technical skills of trail maintenance and rebuilding. The project includes some rock wall work, rerouting an existing trail that has washed, removing steps and creating a gradual decline.

Trail Maintenance/Building Training Event
Location: Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, off Highway 87 10 miles north of Payson
Date Time: 8 a.m. Nov. 8. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m.
Bring: Sun screen, work gloves, water bottle and shoes/boots and clothing appropriate for the weather (long pants and sleeves are best).
Provided: Coffee, lunch, beverages and all trail tools needed.
More information: Volunteers will spend the night at the historic lodge at the park Saturday evening and are asked to bring sleeping bags, pillows, towels and food for dinner (grills available).
