A computer security analyst and UCLA graduate, Mr. Lobel founded the club’s Grand Canyon chapter in 1965 and fought alongside giants in the Arizona conservation movement to prevent the two dams from scarring one of his favorite hiking spots.

Mr. Lobel is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Services were at Temple Chai in Phoenix.
