A state health official and former assistant attorney general has been hired as executive director of the state board that regulates physicians.
The Arizona Medical Board on Nov. 23 announced the hiring of Timothy C. Miller, chief of the Consumer Rights Bureau of the state Department of Health Service’s Division of Behavioral Health Services.
He will assume his new post on Dec. 13, replacing Barry Cassidy, who submitted his resignation in September.
The 12-member board is responsible for licensing and disciplining more than 15,000 medical doctors in Arizona. Board members are appointed by the governor and may serve up to two, five-year terms.
