Because of my interest with nursing care home reforms, I have recently been in communication with Rep. Doug Quelland, R-10, chairman of the House Health Committee.
I informed him that I planned to attend the meeting of the Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers to express my disappointment with its investigative process and my disgust with the sham and farce of a hearing I received concerning my mother. I was pleasantly surprised to find him present to greet me, to listen to my testimony and to offer his comments to the board.
He assured me that he shares my commitment to improve standards and practices in care homes and to strengthen government oversight.
I would like to publicly thank Rep. Quelland for his kindness, responsiveness and commitment.
