Chamber Honors Legislative Leaders And Creightons

The Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored legislative, corporate and publishing leaders at its annual luncheon June 14.

The chamber named Senate President Ken Bennett its Arizona State Senator of the Year and Speaker Jim Weiers as Arizona State Representative of the Year.

Ned and Diana Creighton, recently retired publisher and president, respectively, of Arizona Capitol Times and Arizona News Service, were presented the 2005 Arizona Executive Leadership Award. The Creightons last month sold their business, which they operated for more than 30 years, to Dolan Media Company.

Arizona Public Service received the 2005 Arizona Corporate Leadership Award, and the Volunteer of the Year award went to David Kimball, III of the Gallagher and Kennedy law firm.

The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce won the President’s Award for Leadership in Public Policy for its tort reform campaign on medical malpractice. —
