Ron McElhaney
Joined the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce as a vice president on the leadership team. He oversees operational areas such as finance and accounting, insurance and benefits, and contractual services such as IT support. Most recently, he was the associate executive director of fiscal and administrative operations at the alumni association at ASU. He has an MBA in accounting.
New Hires
• Brian Roach was hired by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce as business development executive to the chamber’s sales team. He is responsible for new membership sales and member retention. Before joining the chamber, Mr. Roach was a sales associate and managed the sales of leasing options to IBM business clients for Leasing Group Incorporated in Tempe.
• Seung Kim was hired by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce as a graphic designer. Ms. Kim will focus on print and Web design as related to the chamber’s brand initiatives. She is a new graduate of the Visual Communication Design program at ASU.
Councils
• Tom M. White Jr. was elected chairman of the Northern Arizona Council of Governments Regional Council at its annual business meeting June 22. Mr. White serves as supervisor in Apache County District II. He has been a member of the NACOG Regional Council for nearly 10 years, most recently serving as vice-chair and secretary-treasurer.

• Jackie Baker, vice mayor of the town of Camp Verde,
vice-chair.
• J.R. DeSpain, supervisor from Navajo County District 3, secretary-treasurer.
Associations
• James M. Cavanaugh was selected as chairman of the Maricopa Association of Governments at its annual meeting on June 28. Mr. Cavanaugh is the mayor of Goodyear, and succeeds Mayor Keno Hawker of Mesa as chair. Founded in 1967, MAG is the regional planning agency for the metropolitan Phoenix area.

• Mary Manross, mayor of Scottsdale, vice-chair.
• Joan Shafer, mayor of Surprise, treasurer.
• Steve Berman, mayor of Gilbert, at-large.
• Peggy Neely, Phoenix City Council member, at-large.
• Thomas Schoaf, mayor of Litchfield Park, at-large.
• Keno Hawker, mayor of Mesa, past chair.
