Awards
Gretchen M. Jacobs was honored with the Federated Human Service Co-op Community Recognition Award at Federated’s HSC 2006 Conference on Oct. 12. The award recognizes leaders in the community for outstanding achievements and efforts that support self-determination and self-direction. She was chosen based on her inspiration to and support of families touched by autism.
Ms. Jacobs is an attorney with Greenberg Traurig’s Phoenix office. She has lobbied and worked to promote the passage of technical and complex bills before the state Legislature.
Darcy Olsen was honored with the State Policy Network’s 2006 Roe Award at the annual Roe Award Banquet in Milwaukee on Oct. 6. The award recognizes achievement in promoting free enterprise and limited state government.
Ms. Olsen is president of the Goldwater Institute and under her leadership the institute has become Arizona’s largest privately funded policy research organization. The institute issues nearly 300 policy articles and a dozen policy reports each year.
The State Policy Network is a professional service organization for America’s state-based, free market think tank community. The award is named for the organization’s founder, Thomas A. Roe Jr.
