Senate President-elect Robert Burns has picked Wendy Baldo, a long-time policy adviser at the majority office, as his chief of staff.

The move is expected to be the first of a couple of changes at the Senate majority staff office.

Baldo's position as policy adviser also would need to be filled.

"I have a great deal of respect for Wendy," Burns said. "She knows the system. She knows the people. She knows the issues. So I think she will do a tremendous job in that position."

House Speaker-elect Rep. Kirk Adams said Senate chief of staff Victor Riches will be joining him as his chief of staff.
