News Notes: Dominoes

The snafu in the Senate had repercussions in the House where its Approps Committee was scheduled to hear the tax related measures: two related to the referral of the sales tax increase and one dealing with the flat-rate income tax. But, things ground to a halt, pending resolution of the situation in the Senate. House Approps was put on hold, Rep. John McComish told our reporter, until they are sure the Senate is going to move forward. “We don’t want to do that in vain,” he said. Adams and Burns et.al. were in discussions.
