As the election comes to a close, campaign finance documents filed with the Arizona Clean Elections Commission and the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office show that, with only one statewide race, outside spending is in state and legislative elections is way down from 2014.
Here are some major highlights from independent expenditure spending in the 2016 general election.
Outside groups are targeting a handful of races in the state – with the vast majority of outside spending in non-federal races going to Corporation Commission candidates and a handful of candidates in competitive legislative races.
